This interactive curriculum and training is based on the Developmental Assets. Participants of the Training of Trainers learn to deliver the seven-session Parenting Partners: Practical Tools for Positive Parenting Workshop that builds parenting skills and confidence for parents to become positive leaders in their homes, their children’s schools, and their communities. In addition, parents learn the power of building assets in their children to protect them from risky behaviors and promote healthy choices. Finally, because the parent workbooks are available in Spanish, Hmong, and English, parents connect cross-culturally and form self-sustaining support groups. In this 2-day training, your team will
- successfully organize and facilitate the seven-session Parenting Partners workshop;
- form and sustain a presentation team for parenting partners workshops;
- work effectively in a multi-lingual setting;
- recruit parents;
- develop parent leaders who can bring the assets message to their schools and communities;
- develop a follow-up support program for parents;
- gain life-long access to a certified coach.
Who Should Attend: 3-5 person teams—teams can be made up of educators, parents, or other concerned community members. Up to 6 teams can be trained at the same event
Length: Two 7 hour days (includes lunches and breaks).
Group Size: 3-5 trainers.
Price: $5,000 (all inclusive) for each 3-5 person team (two team minimum).
Materials: Included in the cost of the training are
- a Training Team Kit for each team, which includes books, posters, handouts, and all the supplies needed to conduct all seven parenting workshops ($700 value);
- a Trainer Tool Kit for each facilitator includes a facilitator manual in the language (English or Spanish) of your choice, a how to run successful parent leadership workshops guide, and a parent workbook ($1500 value);
- 20 Parent Workbooks in the language (English, Spanish, or Hmong) of your choice ($200 value).
