Powerful Teaching: Added Impact without Added Work

This interactive workshop is designed to enable participants to recognize and identify the asset building they are currently doing as part of good
teaching practice as well as provide tools, strategies, and resources to strengthen and expand their impact with students. Educators will leave
feeling inspired and prepared to use every moment with students to create the conditions for optimal learning.

As a result of participating in this training participants will

• understand Search Institute’s Developmental Assets® framework;
• identify the connection between building assets, improved academic achievement, and healthy outcomes;
• examine instructional practices through the asset-building lens;
• explore strategies for infusing assets into content areas and existing curricula;
• explore resources for on-going support.

Who Should Attend: Teachers, administrators, and education professionals involved in everyday classroom learning and teaching.

Length: 7-1/2 contact hours (includes lunch
and breaks).

Recommended Materials for Each Participant:
The Asset Approach and Your Classroom booklets and the 150 Ways to Show Kids You Care mini-poster. Also recommended for each team or school site represented is at least one copy of Powerful Teaching: Developmental Assets in Curriculum and Instruction.
