Ward Clapham
Internationally recognized as an innovative leader and compelling visionary, Ward Clapham, Superintendent (Rtd), is a 28-year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. During his tenure with the RCMP, he led the third largest detachment in Canada, located in Richmond, B.C., a diverse multicultural community within the Vancouver metro area. He instituted a Positive Ticket campaign in Richmond, in which police rewarded youth for practicing safety and good behavior. This campaign has been replicated in numerous sites internationally. He recently published Breaking With the Law, outlining how communities can utilize the power of Positive Tickets to help change the nature of youth/adult interactions. His “breaking with tradition” style has led him to become known as “one of the greatest leaders you’ve never met.” (Captain D. Michael Abrashoff)
