Everyone's an Asset Builder: Integrating Developmental Assets into Your Life

This workshop will introduce participants to Search Institute’s Developmental Assets and invite them to become asset builders in their personal and professional life. This training will help participants

  • understand Search Institute’s framework of Developmental Assets and the role of asset builders;
  • identify the characteristics of effective asset builders and their own personal strengths and challenges;
  • understand “circles of influence” and identify those circles in which there is potential for asset building;
  • explore barriers to being an individual asset builders;
  • make and share a personal commitment to asset-building action.

Who Should Attend: Adults and youth in your community or organization who would like to be more intentional about making Developmental Assets an active part of their life. No prior knowledge of the Developmental Assets framework is needed.

Length: 4 hours

Recommended Materials for Each Participant: The Asset Approach booklet, 150 Ways to Show Kids You Care mini=poster, Taking Asset Building Personally workbook, and the Developmental Assets bookmark.
