Building Developmental Assets in School Communities

This workshop will describe the connections between Search Institute’s Developmental Assets and student achievement, show you how to build assets for every student and empower educators to initiate, increase, and strengthen the asset-building efforts that already exist in their schools.

As a result of participating in this training, teachers, counselors, administrators, and other education professionals will

  • become familiar with the connections between the asset framework and academic success;
  • commit to forming and maintaining relationships with students that are mutually respectful, caring and genuine;
  • commit to personally becoming an asset builder for the youth in their school and life;
  • begin creating a plan for operationalizing the Developmental Assets framework in their school communities.

Who Should Attend: Staff from any part of a school community: school administrators, teachers, counselors, school board members, parents, students, youth development professionals, and others interested in creating asset-rich students and school communities.

Length: 7-1/2 hours (includes lunch and breaks).
