A closer look at individuals and small groups…

Assess your program’s efforts in increasing the level of Developmental Assets in your youth.
- Measure the eight asset categories.
- Assess how your youth are faring within the personal, social, family, school, and community contexts.
- Conduct group or individual assessments in schools, after-school programs, juvenile justice, mental health, and family services settings, among others.
When you need to narrow your focus from the big picture of young people in your community to a small group or individual youth, the Developmental Assets Profile (DAP) may be the right tool. The DAP measures the eight asset categories in a way that’s quickly administered and scored. Unlike our other tools, the DAP is scored by the administrator (not Search Institute), which means added flexibility. In addition to looking at the data from the asset category perspective, the data can also be scored within five context areas. You can assess how youth are faring personally, socially, and within the family, school, and community contexts.
Online DAP The DAP can be administered by paper or online. The Web option provides a secure environment in which to administer, score, view, print, and export DAP results.
DAP Qualifications Guidelines
Search Institute has established qualification guidelines for users of the DAP to ensure its appropriate use by trained professionals who are experienced in the interpretation of individual and small-group assessment instruments. The DAP is ideal for:
- Individual assessments by qualified clinicians, school counselors, mental health practitioners, and social workers
- Group assessments for youth programs in schools, juvenile justice, mental health, and family services settings
The Developmental Assets Profile is appropriate for youth in grades 6 to 12. Click here to view a sample page of the DAP.
