National Day of Service and Remembrance: Eight for 9/11

On Tuesday, April 21, 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which includes federal authorization to establish September 11 as an annually recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance. Youth Service America, the official youth partner of the National Day of Service and Remembrance, has detailed eight lessons learned from the event and provides many related ideas for service and service-learning projects.

Search Institute is proud to be a part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance as it encourages positive experiences and values in young people.
