Developmental Relationships – Bring Intention to Practice

Relationships are too important to leave to chance. Educational success and social-emotional development blossom when caring adults and supportive peers are present in young people’s lives. This workshop helps participants learn to be intentional and inclusive in strengthening developmental relationships with young people.

Extensive research has documented relationships as the roots of social and emotional development for youth. Yet many professionals who work directly with youth–especially youth from marginalized communities–face challenges in forming well-rounded relationships that connect with the diverse needs of youth.

In this fun and interactive workshop, you’ll learn to be intentional and inclusive about building relationships with young people.

“Everybody can be the person who makes a difference. This is a framework to articulate how to bring everybody on board in the community. This shows how we can provide a safe scaffolding as kids are growing and exploring and pushing those boundaries.”- Maureen Farrell, Hero Coalition

“We work with a lot of high-risk kids. So this workshop has really shown me the power of building relationships with students. Relationships are the foundation of building trust with the child. Search institute has been phenomenal with giving us the tools to help our kids and give them structure so we can move them along.”- Leslie Myles, Communities in Schools Georgia
