St. Lucia
RISE (St. Lucia) Inc., formed in July 2007, is a non-profit, non-governmental, national organization dedicated to the healthy development of youth. We seek to link with and support other public and private agencies or individuals similarly involved. We are primarily about advocacy and resource mobilization. We seek to create synergy between existing efforts, to identify gaps, and to support youth as their own community change agents to propose solutions and to design, implement, and evaluate responses.
The group is all inclusive and membership can be as an individual, group, or agency, with the only requirements being 1) youth interested in positive development or 2) adults with a desire to help youth to help themselves, and a commitment to operate according to the defining principles of:
R – Respect, Reality
I – Initiative, Industry
S – Social Health, Society Building
E – Education, Enterprise, Empowerment
