In southwestern Saskatchewan, children, youth and adults are building neighborhood communities, making connections, and enjoying each other.
When thinking about how to bring communities together, we thought the idea of Neighborhood Picnics had the potential to act as a springboard for further interactions and opportunities that could help grow assets for children as neighbors come to know and appreciate each other, and build rich intergenerational relationships. We sent this out to a number of different contacts in the southwest region of our province, as well as provincially in an effort to support other asset builders locally and provincially and to raise awareness that everyone can be an asset builder.
