Care Team Collaborative is Ohio’s premier training, support, and evaluation organization that leads schools and communities as they implement the Care Team framework to better meet the needs of their children and families. Care Team Collaborative assists schools and communities as they develop partnerships among schools, mental/physical/behavioral health providers, child protection/development services, juvenile court/law enforcement, and other youth-serving agencies to provide a continuum of care (prevention, early intervention, and intensive services) to all children and families. Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets are used as the primary prevention foundation in all Care Team schools. Youth, school personnel, and community partners are all trained in asset building and work together to create safer, more supportive school and community environments for youth. Care Team schools report that the Care Team framework results in:

  • increased student achievement (attendance, discipline, course passage, achievement tests);
  • decreased duplication of services among care providers;
  • stronger family relationships;
  • more effective use of school, family, and community resources; and
  • decreased risk factors among youth, creating a stronger, healthier community.
