This is one of the 150 games for kids found in Great Group Games for Kids, one of Search Institute’s fantastic activity books for kids and adults.
Design Your Own Superhero Identity
Time: 10–15 minutes
Supplies:
- Paper and a pencil for each player
The Game: Tell participants that each of them has superhero potential and qualities. Each player should take two minutes to design her or his own personal superhero identity using pencil and paper. Their superheroes should represent some of their real traits (being kind to animals, helping others, being respectful) as well as some superhuman traits they would like to have (flying, having X-ray vision, crawling up walls, leaping tall buildings).
When time is up, players should form teams of three to share their superhero selves with each other—their names, their best traits, and the superhuman traits they wish to have. Give them five minutes to share.
For additional fun, have the three superheroes come up with a movie title and description or comic book title that they would star in together. Have superhero teams share their titles and set aside their work for more play and fun later (such as role playing, making videos, drawing comic-book cover designs, etc.).
