Search Institute has received a major, three-year grant from the John Templeton Foundation to establish the Center for Spiritual Development in Childhood and Adolescence, which seeks to advance knowledge, practice, and international interest in this neglected domain of human development.
The new Center will focus its work in four areas: (1) advancing the scientific study of spiritual development; (2) building an interdisciplinary, international field of scholarship; (3) strengthening practice across traditions and sectors; and (4) public communications.
The center builds on a previous planning process that examined the state of the field of spiritual development in childhood and adolescence, also supported by the John Templeton Foundation.
