Phase 3

Synthesis and Consensus Building

The findings from all the research methods will be distilled and synthesized by center staff in order to propose core elements of definitions and dimensions of spiritual development and spiritual thriving. As is true with other areas of human development, we anticipate that there will be common elements that transcend culture, tradition, and context, as well as differences across these variables and individual differences. We have sought to acknowledge and document this richness through consensus-building processes.

To do this, we are engaging our network of 100-plus distinguished, scientific, theological, and practice advisors in a web-based consensus-building process.
