About the Library

The Center for Spiritual Development in Childhood and Adolescence’s features an online resource library. This searchable database reflects the current work and research interests of the staff. Coverage is global, interdisciplinary, and inclusive of all major faith traditions. Most citations date from 1990 to the present, although some are earlier. At present we are able to include only citations for English-language documents. An ongoing project of the center, the library is being launched with approximately 500 citations; new references will be added regularly, and by the end of 2006 we will have more than a thousand.

Areas represented in the library include:

  • Classics and current thinking in psychology and religious studies
  • Measurement of spirituality constructs
  • Explorations of the meanings of key concepts, such as spirituality, childhood, child development, religion, and youth development

Our intention is to serve the communities of scholars and practitioners working in this important emerging field of inquiry by helping you identify, evaluate, and obtain spirituality-related research and other materials. While we are not able to provide full-text copies of most of the resources, we will in the future add links that direct you to a source from which a copy can be obtained.
