The Power of Youth and Adult Partnerships and Change Pathways for Youth Work (2005)
Supported by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, this study assessed the youth-work field and young people’s role in community change. It examined eight forms of youth-adult partnerships:
- Youth service
- Youth leadership
- Youth decision making and governance
- Youth philanthropy
- Youth civic and political engagement
- Youth organizing
- Youth media
- Youth research and evaluation
The assessment integrates knowledge from the youth-work literature across fields of practice, youth and young adults’ experiences with adult partners and community change, and activist leaders’ views on the meaning of their change pathway efforts. It was conducted to inform the Kellogg Foundation’s Leadership for Community Change initiative, with a specific focus on the theme of Valuing and Building Youth and Adult Partnerships to Advance Just Communities.
