Faith Communities
Faith communities—including churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, and other places of worship—have tremendous potential for building assets and nurturing the healthy development of young people. Search Institute seeks to provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of the faith community to contribute to young people's growth in body, mind, and spirit.

Update on Search Institute's Initiative on Spiritual Development
Search Institute has launched the Center for Spiritual Development in
Childhood and Adolescence, a global initiative to advance research and
practice in this vital but understudied domain of human development.
Supported by a three-year grant from The John Templeton Foundation, the
center seeks to:
- advance the scientific study of spiritual development
of young people;
- contribute to building an interdisciplinary, international field of scholarship;
- strengthen practice across traditions and sectors; and
- communicate with the public.
The hub of the center is its website:
www.spiritualdevelopmentcenter.org. It
features updates on the centers' international activities, an extensive,
searchable library catalog of references on spiritual development, and a
forum for dialogue about the study, practice, and experiences around
spiritual development.
