Register Your Initiative

Register Your Community-Wide Asset-Building Initiative

Search Institute’s Healthy Communities • Healthy Youth initiative is a grassroots movement grounded in a shared vision of using Developmental Assets to strengthen communities for youth. More than 600 communities have launched initiatives that seek to unite community members around this shared vision.

Although Search Institute does not seek to manage or oversee these local initiatives, we do want to learn from and with you, to help you connect with others who are involved in similar work, and to be able to tell your story.

If your community has (or is organizing) a cross-sector, community-wide initiative to promote, link, and support efforts to build Developmental Assets, we encourage you to register with Search Institute.

Benefits of Registering Your Initiative

There are several benefits of registering your initiative, including being listed in the national online registry of HC • HY initiatives.

See our FAQ for more information on the benefits of registration

Criteria for Registration

There is no fee for having your initiative registered with Search Institute. It must meet four criteria, however:

  1. The Developmental Assets are central to its work
  2. Three or more community sectors must be involved
  3. Youth must be involved
  4. The initiative is willing to share lessons and strategies

To see a more detailed list, visit our National/Local Initiatives page

NOTE: At this time, Search Institute does not have a formalized network of individuals or organizations engaged in asset building outside of a community initiative context. However, we encourage you to tell us about your asset-building efforts. Send your stories to stories@search-institute.org.
