Healthy Communities • Healthy Youth - Mission, Goals, Partners

The Mission

The mission of Healthy Communities • Healthy Youth is to motivate and equip individuals, organizations, and their leaders to join together in nurturing competent, caring, and responsible children and adolescents. To accomplish this, Search Institute will provide or assist with research, evaluation, resource materials, training, technical assistance, and networking opportunities based on the institute's framework of developmental assets.

The major goals of Healthy Communities - Healthy Youth are:

Lutheran Brotherhood, now Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, is the founding national sponsor for Healthy Communities • Health Youth.  Search Institute's Healthy Communities • Healthy Youth initiative has received generous support from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in 2004 and 2005. Search Institute offers unique asset-building resources and opportunities for Lutherans in the United States. Learn more about this partnership.

Search Institute's asset-building work has also received financial support from the Blandin Foundation, the Cargill Foundation, the Colorado Trust, DeWitt Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Lilly Endowment, the Norwest Foundation, and other funders.
