Working with Youth to Make ‘Big Ideas’ a Reality

People of all ages recognize the importance of change in their local communities and the world at large. Making change happen, however, can be a murky process. That's where Youthprise, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit, comes in. One of Youthprise's innovative programs, Change Fellows, focuses on young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are stirring up currents of change in their communities in Minnesota.

Youthprise has partnered with Search Institute to help young people in the Change Fellows program implement their "big idea," and set in motion their innovative solutions to address a critical issue in their community.

Check out this video to see Search Institute's role in the journey that Change Fellows undertake. Research Associate Jenna Sethi, Ph.D., talks about how her work helps document the impact of the Change Fellows program. Bianca Dawkins highlights her experience in the Change Fellows as an alumnus of the program and the current cohort leader.
