The annual BigTent Conference holds numerous opportunities for attendees to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their skills. But before the opening assembly even starts, attendees have the opportunity to get a head-start on expanding their own capacity to tell others about Search Institute’s work by attending one of several pre-conference workshops, with a diversity of people from multiple states and around the world.
These workshops allow participants the opportunity to learn learn how to deliver time-tested workshops designed by the institute; how to plan, implement, and evaluate asset-building programs; how to describe, identify, and nourish the sparks of young people; or how to assist parents and caregivers in setting and sustaining appropriate boundaries.
All sessions include a wealth of relevant resources on the subject being discussed and extensive materials for participants’ use on their home turf.
The sessions are consistently highly rated by participants. Here’s a sampling of the comments offered from 2010 pre-conference workshop attendees in their conference evaluations:
“I was equipped, prepared, informed, motivated, and inspired.”
“ . . . an incredible trainer! It was the most clear explanation and description of assets I have ever heard. I feel that I am now equipped to share the assets [with others.”]“It was so amazing to see such a diverse group of individuals from different countries sharing their knowledge and passion . . .”
“I think everything learned over the past two days is able to be implemented in my community. [The trainer] lives and breathes the Developmental Assets.”
Plans are underway now for an exciting slate of pre-conference workshops during the 2011 Big Tent Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, November 1 & 2, 2011*. (Full conference from November 3-5, 2011.) We hope to see you there!
